New ESG Senior Consultant role! in LS2 based in University of Leeds NEXUS Remote and Embedded.

We provide ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) consulting to the Oil, Gas and Mining (OGM) industries. We are pioneers in this new industry specialism. We will offer training so that you will be up to date with this subject matter.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and rapidly expanding ESG consultancy team, working on critical OGM ESG projects and with a diverse international client base to develop and support in delivering their objectives.

As the Senior-level ESG Consultant, your primary duties will include:

Consult with the board and senior management of new and existing clients.

Help clients understand and document environmental, social and governance areas at their company.

Map client’s journey’s to Net-Zero.

Document findings in an annual ESG Impact Report and share with various stakeholders.

Score and benchmark the company against several ESG metrics.

Provide clients with an annual action plan programme.

The Successful Applicant

As the ESG Consultant, you will:

Have a passion for ESG and net-zero.

Have experience within some areas of ESG/sustainability. However, it’s not necessary to be an industry expert.

Enjoy writing, as this is a significant part of the role.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Have a minimum of 5 years of experience post-graduation.

Salary:

£45,000 – £50,000 + Benefits

While voluntary today, these reporting standards will become required by law in Europe in 2025. This creates a massive market opportunity and an even more significant career opportunity. Roles and Responsibilities

Translate ESG subject matter expertise and customer demands into SasS products to solve real-world problems

Build, expand and maintain our proprietary ESG benchmarking database to ensure accuracy and timeliness

Carry out extensive industry research and product research to generate product design ideas

Track ESG news and events and stay abreast of the frontier of framework developments

Communicate around ESG/corporate sustainability efforts with team members, partners and other stakeholders

Collaborate with IT teams to facilitate the development and deployment of sustainability reporting functionality

Participate in meetings with clients to offer support for the sales team and the customer success team

Manage internship programs, train the new hires, monitor their performance and provide feedback

Create decks and present them to internal and external stakeholders

Draft reports, articles or other write-ups to communicate effectively with stakeholders

Outreach our business partners to acquire resources and sustain the relationship

Other ad hoc work assigned by the supervisor

Education and Work Experience

Required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree focuses on sustainability development (e.g. Sustainability Management, Sustainable Finance, Environmental Science etc.)

3+ years of related work experience

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Preferred:

Familiarity with leading ESG frameworks (e.g. SASB, GRI, TCFD, CSRD, SFDR,

EU Taxonomy), carbon accounting standards (GHG Protocol), and net zero standards (e.g. SBTi net zero frameworks)

Sustainability project management experience, for example, working on a sustainability consulting team or producing sustainability reports in accordance with international frameworks

A sustainability credential is a plus.

Knowledge of finance and ESG investing is a plus.
